Two lines of attack on Farage ran together: "Nigel Farage would betray the British car industry" and, from 27 June, "The mask has slipped", on tax cuts for the richest and sick pay. A water ad from 23 June blamed the Tories for pollution and said "the era of profiting from failure is over". Recruitment ads asked "Labour voter who wants to take the next step?"
